Doctoral Candidate in Physical Metallurgy at The Swiss National Science Foundation

Doctoral Candidate in Physical Metallurgy at The Swiss National Science Foundation. The above positions are available as part of a new project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation within the Laboratory of Mechanical Metallurgy at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
This project aims to produce, using a novel process, individual, custom-shaped, cast `microsamples` of single-crystalline aluminium only a few micrometres in diameter that can be tested individually.

The scientific goal of the project is to contribute, using this new approach to sample generation, to our understanding of size-effects in dislocational plasticity.
